Today, on the occasion of the 30^th anniversary of 7 December 1988 Spitak disaster earthquake the RA NA President Ara Babloyan visited Gyumri.

The RA NA President, the RA Acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, the Members of the AGovernment, Representatives of diplomatic corps, foreign guests laid wreaths and flowers at the monument eternalizing the memory of the innocent victims and honoured the memory of the victims in silence and bowing. The Head of Shirak Diocese Mikayel Bishop Ajapahyan offered liturgy for repose of souls. Afterwards Ara Babloyan visited Charles Aznavour Square and laid flowers at the statue of the world known chansonnier.

Within the framework of the visit the NA President watched the exemplary exercises organized by the RA Ministry of Emergency Situations.

The President of the National Assembly also took part in the opening ceremony of Gyumri Branch of SASSTEX Company, took a tour on the territory of the enterprise and got acquainted with the conditions.

Presenting the further steps of SASSTEX development, the Director of the Company Christian Gelici has noted that the Company makes an attempt to restore the textile industrial potential. Now, 150 people work in the Branch, and the workers' clothes are sown.
