Parliament Continues Debating Government Programme

On February 13, the RA National Assembly continued the debate of the upcoming programme of the Government. The deputies addressed questions to the RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan: on the previous day 53 deputies were registered.

The RA Prime Minister noted that the imported goods for sale should be cleared by the customs, and the sale in the streets should not be done in the central streets of the city.

Nikol Pashinyan mentioned the indices of poverty and employment, export volumes and economic growth. According to the Prime Minister, the item of the judges’ social guarantees is still crucial.

A question was addressed to the Prime Minister on the shutting down of the inter-state railway and specifying the destiny of the copper foundry of the city of Alaverdi. The Prime Minister has answered that he is aware of the problem and measures are taken on the settlement of the issues.

With regards to the issue of the gas price change Nikol Pashinyan has stated that the gas price will not be raised.

The RA Prime Minister touched upon a number of items raised by the MPs, which related to the protection of the investors’ rights., the policy of human resources, the quality of the legislative works, the improvement of the demographic situation and the humanitarian mission sent to Syria.

42 deputies were registered for the exchange of thoughts.

In their speeches the deputies highlighted the citizens’ role in providing cash register machine cards, the entrepreneurship and the work style of the government aimed to the work encouragement, the separation of the business and the state post and the engagement of foreign investments. The MPs referred to the lack of the jobs, the absence of proper pensions and salaries, the logic of programme and the steps taken by the government, which would lead to the announced economic revolution. In some speeches the programme was qualified very cautious and needs to be rectified.

The deputies as a priority emphasized the solution of the Artsakh problem.

Touching upon the regional policy the Prime Minister’s upcoming visit to Iran was considered important, which would raise up to one degree the Armenian-Iranian relations. The problems of the Armenians from Javakhk were also presented.

Passing the RA Prime Minister’s announcement that the Government is ready to debate all recommendations in written form by the factions, the RA NA Speaker Ararat Mirzoyan urged the deputies to formulate their recommendations and hand over to the Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan.

In their speeches the key factor of the development shall become the creative work: in 21st century, when the world goes on with the industrial and digital revolution.

The MPs talked about the absence of the provisions aimed at the strengthening of the borderline communities, the problems existing in the state service system and in the sphere of education, the overcoming of corruption and poverty reduction, as well as the steps directed to the fight against monopolies. The implementation of the technological revolution was referred to: in this issue the human capital potential and the technology saturation.

An opinion has been voiced that the Government has presented a document proposing economic revolution, and it proposes a new economic model.

The National Assembly will continue the work of the sitting on February14 at 10:00.
