Head of Parliament Receives Ambassador of Bulgaria to Armenia

On February 18, the President of the RA National Assembly Ararat Mirzoyan received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Bulgaria to Armenia Maria Pavlova Tzotzorkova-Kaymaktchieva.

Welcoming the Ambassador, Ararat Mirzoyan underlined the many-years historical ties, cultural connections and diplomatic relations between the two peoples. In the development of bilateral relations the Head of the parliament highlighted the unique role of Bulgaria's Armenian community.

Evaluating the significance of the parliamentary diplomacy in the strengthening of the two countries' relations and deepening of the cooperation, the Head of the legislative body noted that the Parliament Friendship Group of the newly elected parliament would have its considerable role in the activation of bilateral contacts.

Touching upon full ratification process of Armenia-EU Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement, the President of the National Assembly thanked the authorities of Bulgaria for ratification of the document.

Congratulating Ararat Mirzoyan on being elected in the post of the President of the RA National Assembly Maria Pavlova Tzotzorkova-Kaymaktchieva conveyed the invitation of the President of the Parliament of the Republic of Bulgaria Tsveta Karayancheva for visiting Bulgaria.

Highly assessing the relations existing between the two countries, the Ambassador also emphasized the cooperation of the Friendship Groups of the parliaments and the deepening of cooperation in different international structures. The Ambassador has recorded that the Armenians have their considerable contribution in most different spheres of Bulgaria's life.

Regarding Armenia-EU Agreement ratification by her country, the Ambassador expressed conviction that it would boost the deepening of the relations between Armenia and EU member states, including Armenia and Bulgaria.

The interlocutors discussed the agenda of the bilateral cooperation in many spheres and underscored that there was still unused great potential of the development and expansion of the Armenian-Bulgarian cooperation.
