On February 18, the Head of the RA NA My Step Faction Lilit Makunts met with the Secretary General of the inter-Governmental Organization Thomas E. Garrett, the member of the Secretariat of the same organization Patricia Galdamez and the Senior Director for Russia and Eurasia at the U.S. National Endowment for Democracy (NED) Miriam Lanskoy.

Expressing his gratitude for the reception Thomas E. Garrett has noted that the goal of his visit is to get acquainted with the bases of democracy and protection of human rights.

Thanking for showing such interest towards Armenia Lilit Makunts has expressed readiness for close cooperation, noting that Armenia has turned into an extremely important new phase of history, and there is a need for strengthening the reached democratic achievements. A special role is reserved especially to the National Assembly, as after the constitutional amendments the Republic of Armenia has become a parliamentary republic. The Head of the Faction highlighted the complete use of the accountability  and the oversight tools of the parliament.

The sides discussed issues concerning the processes aimed at the development of democracy and reforms in Armenia.
