Ararat Mirzoyan Receives Ambassador of Swiss Confederation to Armenia

On February 19, the Head of Armenia’s legislative body Ararat Mirzoyan received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Swiss Confederation to our country Stefano Lazzarotto.

The President of the National Assembly has recorded that the Armenian-Swiss relations have dynamically developed in all directions since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

Ararat Mirzoyan has assured that the newly elected parliament is ready to further expand the format of the Armenian-Swiss cooperation and raise it to a new level.

Talking about the Nagorno Karabakh problem the Head of the parliament highlighted the balanced position of the Swiss Confederation in the peaceful settlement of the conflict.

Congratulating Ararat Mirzoyan on being elected President of the National Assembly Stefano Lazzarotto wished him successes Highly assessing the current level of the two countries’ cooperation the Ambassador emphasized the active cooperation of the two countries on the international platforms.

Underlining the role of the parliamentary diplomacy in strengthening the relations between the two countries and deepening the cooperation, the sides considered necessary the legislators’ active contacts and exchange of experience.

The interlocutors reaffirmed the readiness of continuing the joint programmes, touched upon the perspectives and opportunities of the development in different directions. They exchanged thoughts on fight against corruption, monopolies, as well as deepening and strengthening of democracy in the country.
