Ambassador of Georgia to Armenia Hosted at RA NA Standing Committees

On April 3, the Chair of the RA NA Standing Committee on Defense and Security Andranik Kocharyan received George Saganelidze, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the Republic of Armenia.

Items on the advancement of the Armenian-Georgian parliamentary agenda were discussed. The sides highlighted the further expansion and deepening of the traditional friendly ties formed between the two countries and underlined the role of the parliamentary diplomacy inter-state relations.

The favourable conditions created for the development of the democratic institutes in our country after the revolution, were touched upon. The interlocutors underlined the key role of the legislative body in the conditions of the parliamentary government in the state building, as well as in the implementation of the parliamentary oversight.

With regards to the regional problems and challenges, the Committee Chair and the Ambassador shared the same opinion in exclusively peaceful settlement of the conflicts. They have stressed that the peace and the provision of security serve as an important pledge for the development of the region.

On the same day the Chair of the RA NA Standing Committee on Foreign Relations Ruben Rubinyan also received George Saganelidze, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to Armenia.

Welcoming the guest in the RA National Assembly Ruben Rubinyan highlighted the effective parliamentary cooperation directed to the development of the Armenian-Georgian inter-state relations. In this context the Committee Chair underlined the priority of the provision of high level dialogue between the parliaments of Armenia and Georgia as a firm basis of further expansion of the mutually beneficial cooperation.

The sides also touched upon the issues of cooperation on the international platforms and discussed items regarding the deepening and expansion of relations in different spheres between the two countries.
