On May 15, the President of the RA National Assembly Ararat Mirzoyan received the President of the National Assembly of Artsakh Republic Ashot Ghulyan.

Welcoming his colleague in the National Assembly Ararat Mirzoyan has noted that in recent period the meetings are of frequent character, and today the sitting of the Inter-Parliamentary Committee on Cooperation between the two countries is convened for the first time in the National Assembly of the 7^th convocation. According to the RA NA President, the agenda of the sitting held in Yerevan is full, and will allow disclosing new perspectives and formats of cooperation.

Ararat Mirzoyan assured that from now on the RA NA parliamentarians also would continue raising the issue of the fair solution of Artsakh problem on the international parliamentary platforms as much as possible. The revolution happened in Armenia and the transition to the parliamentary government system opened new perspectives in the context of voicing the NK problem in the international organizations.

In his turn Ashot Ghulyan highly assessed the current level of inter-parliamentary cooperation, expressing conviction that today’s discussions would give an opportunity to use the existing unused potential and turn to more practical steps.

During the meeting the sides discussed the upcoming agenda of cooperation between the parliaments of the Armenian two states, the cooperation in the law making process, talked about the importance of the exchange of experience and mutual visits. They underlined the role of the parliamentary diplomacy in the fair solution of Artsakh problem and evaluated the joint efforts aimed at the advancement of the pan-Armenian problems.

Both sides also touched upon the issues included in the agenda of the thirteenth sitting of the Inter-Parliamentary Committee on Cooperation between the RA National Assembly and the National Assembly of Artsakh Republic.
