On June 25, the RA NA Standing Committee on Territorial Administration, Local Self-Government, Agriculture and Environment moderated by Varazdat Karapetyan debated in the second reading the RA draft law on Making Addendum and Amendments to the RA Water Code, which presented the RA Deputy Minister of Environment Irina Ghaplanyan.
The deputies highlighted in their speeches the proposing amendments, noting that the adoption of the draft law would promote the preservation of the water ecosystem. The Committee accepted the MPs’ recommendation of My Step Faction on banning the construction of small hydroelectric power plants in the Lake Sevan zones of central and direct influence.
The draft law was endorsed for including it on the agenda of June 28 extraordinary session.
