1 / 6

On July 23, the Chair of the RA NA Standing Committee on Regionala and Eurasian Integration Mikayel Melkumyan and the Deputy Chair of the Committee Armen Pambukhchyan visited Bagratashen Customs Checkpoint.

“The main goal of the visit is to get acquainted with the situation, discuss the problems with the high ranking officials and specialists and find solutions for the benefit of everybody,” Mikayel Melkumyan said.

According to the Committee Chair, in the last period numerous complaints from the citizens were received on the accumulations in Bagratashen Checkpoint.

Mikayel Melkumyan distinguished three main reasons of the accumulations: in the near future the price of the customs clearance of the cars being imported from the third countries will rise, the number of the tourists and the goods importers from Turkey and the customs checkpoint has a non-sufficient throughput.

As the Chair of the Standing Committee informed, those responsible for the customs assured that the territories of the offices for registration would be enlarged, and as a result of the announced competition, the number of the customs clearance employees would increase. The deputy has also underlined that the plant sanitation service does not function in the customs, which in its turn causes new problems.

Mikayel Melkumyan will address to the executive power for separating the passenger transportation and goods transportation passageways. “That problem should be urgently solved,” he said.

The item of the expediency of the ecological payment by the tourists was discussed. The Committee has assured that from now on the Committee will control and implement monitoring with the representatives of the government in Bagratashen Customs Office.
