1 / 9

On November 6, the President of the RA National Assembly Ararat Mirzoyan received the delegation led by the Head of the Free Motherland Party of Artsakh Republic Arayik Harutyunyan.

Welcoming the members of the delegation, Ararat Mirzoyan noted that similar meetings should be held more frequent and continuous synchronisation and harmonisation of the agendas of the Republic of Armenia and Artsakh Republic should be part of everyday activity. The RA NA President recorded that the projects being allocated to Artsakh in different directions by Armenia had abruptly grown: beginning from the sphere of defense ending with social various projects, and these efforts should be doubled and tripled. Ararat Mirzoyan has noted that it’s time to differentiate the various information manipulations from real processes. He talked about the elections of the local self-government bodies held in Artsakh, when for the first time observation mission was implemented by the RA civil society institutes, and which despite certain apocalyptic forecasts showed the right the opposite: again it was proved that in Artsakh free, independent, democratic elections were held. In this context Ararat Mirzoyan highlighted that next year the expecting presidential elections in Artsakh also should be very transparent, free, fair, competitive, nothing should cast shadow on the popular character of these elections. “And as they say let win the one, who collects the maximum votes in Artsakh, and in this issue we unequivocally will support Artsakh, and we stand next to Artsakh,” Ararat Mirzoyan stressed.

Thanking for the initiative of the meeting the Head of the Free Motherland Party Arayik Harutyunyan has noted that this is the first meeting in the format of the faction, and before the expecting elections in Artsakh the contact with the political forces of Armenia is important and necessary. He has agreed that there should not be any doubt on the results of the national elections being expected next year in Artsakh. He has welcomed the RA observation participation, stressing that first of all, it is important for the people of Artsakh.

The RA NA President has underlined that changes made in Armenia are irreversible, and the RA authorities have necessary will and resoluteness for implementing all the democratic reforms. “All the forces, which will stand on the way of these changes will impede the democratic reforms and will try to take back Armenia in the whirlwind of regress, will impede the development of Armenia, I am sure, by the citizens’ assessment, will appear in the events of history, but not in present or in the future,” Ararat Mirzoyan noted.

Arayik Harutyunyan has refrained that they are also interested in moving to integration new plane.

During the meeting a number of other issues of bilateral interest were discussed.
