Issues Concerning Armenian-Croatian Relations Discussed

On December 2, the deputy of the RA NA Prosperous Armenia, the Head of Armenia-Croatia Friendship Group Arayik Aghababyan and the members of the Group met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Croatia to the Republic of Armenia Aleksandr Sunko and Honorary Consul of Croatia to Armenia Artashes Kazakhetsyan.

The Armenian parliamentarians expressed their gratitude for ratifying Armenia-EU Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership by the parliament of Croatia in October of this year. The Head of the Friendship Group noted that a cooperation programme had been revised, and its implementation would step by step promote the expansion of the Armenian-Croatian inter-parliamentary ties and the establishment and development of the new partner relations.

The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary has informed about Croatia-Armenia Friendship Group in the Parliament of Croatia which, according to him, would assist to reach the inter-parliamentary ties to a new level. The cooperation in the international structures, particularly in PACE and the Eastern Partnership PA was considered important.

A proposal has been from the Armenian side to elaborate the cooperation between the marzes. In response to that the Ambassador noted that the proposal would be studied. The NA Deputy Speaker Vahe Enfiajyan stressed the importance of cooperation in different spheres, especially in the sphere of economy.

At the meeting other issues concerning the inter-parliamentary ties and the relations between the two countries were also discussed, as well as having embassies on both sides in the near future was highlighted.
