A Number of Bills on Sphere of Defense and Administrative Offences Debated

On December 26, the RA NA Standing Committee on Defense and Security moderated by Andranik Kocharyan at the extraordinary sitting in the first reading debated the package of the draft laws on Amending the RA Code on Administrative Offences and on Amending the RA Criminal Code authored by the Government.

As the RA Deputy Minister of Defense Gabriel Balayan has assured, a number of bills of the Code are complied with the notions being used in the RA Law on Military Service and Serviceman’s Status.

As a result of debate, the package was endorsed for being included in the draft law of the agenda of the NA Fourth Session of the seventh convocation. The draft law on Amending the RA Law on the Citizens Not Passed Compulsory Service by Violation of the Established Order authored by the deputy of the RA NA Bright Armenia Gevorg Gorgisyan was debated in the first reading.

The conclusion of the Government was not positive, and the bill was not endorsed.

The draft law on Making Addenda and Amendment to the RA Code on Administrative Offences authored by the deputy Gevorg Papoyan was also debated in the first reading.

As a result of debate, the Committee members by voting denied the proposal of the executive body and endorsed the MP’s legislative initiative for being included in the draft law of the agenda of the NA Fourth Session.

The bill on Amending the RA Law on Operative-Intelligence Activity authored by the deputies Armen Khachatryan and Sipan Pashinyan was debated and endorsed in the second reading.

By the authors’ proposal the debates of the legislative package on a number of laws were postponed by two-month term.
