Parliament Continues Work of Regular Sittings

On March 5, the RA National Assembly continued the work of the regular sittings and by voting passed the draft laws on Making Amendments and Addenda to the Constitutional Law the RA Judicial Code debated on the previous day and on Levying the Property of Illegal Origin and the packages of the draft laws presented to them.

Afterwards the RA draft law on Making Addenda to the Law on the State Accounting of the State Registration of the Legal Persons, the Separated Sub-Units, Institutions of the Legal Persons and the Individual Entrepreneurs was debated in the second reading.

The key speaker Nikolay Baghdasaryan presented to the parliament the draft law on Making Addendum to the RA Criminal procedure Code.

The key speaker the RA Deputy Minister of Justice Srbuhi Galyan noted that numerous recommendations were presented by the Government which were accepted by the authors.

The parliament debated the draft law on Making Amendments and Addenda to the RA Criminal Procedure authored by the RA NA deputies Nikolay Baghdasaryan and Nazeli Baghdasaryan.

The co-speaker, the Member of the RA NA Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs Sergey Atomyan noted that the Committee endorsed the draft law and called on to vote for the draft law.

The RA Deputy Minister of Justice Srbuhi Galyan presented the draft law on Making Addendum to the RA Criminal Code and the package of the enclosed presented draft laws.

The key speaker, the Member of the RA NA Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs Sisak Gabrielyan highlighted the necessity of the debated draft law, noting that it was endorsed by the Committee.

In their speeches the MPs have noted that the draft law is consonant with our times, underlining that the violence and the appeals for violence shall not be in Armenia.

The RA NA Factions (Bright Armenia – Edmon Marukyan, Prosperous Armenia – Arman Abovyan, My Step – Sargis Khandanyan) expressed their positions on the package.

Nikolay Baghdasaryan presented the negative conclusion of the RA NA Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs.

The RA Deputy Minister of Justice Srbuhi Galyan informed the about the position of the Government.

The legislative package on Making Addenda and and Amendments to the RA Law on General Education and on Making Addendum to the RA Law on Local Self-Government in the City of Yerevan, where the RA Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport Arayik Harutyunyan presented about 20 amendments.

The deputy of the RA NA Standing Committee on Science, Education, Culture, Diaspora, Youth and Sport presented the endorsement on the package.

The draft law on Making Amendment and Addendum to the RA Law on the Acts of Civil Status authored by the RA NA Bright Armenia Faction was also debated in the second reading.

The NA Head Committee and the Government endorsed the draft laws.

The package of the draft laws on Making Amendments and Addenda to the RA Civil Code and on Making Amendments and Addenda to the RA Law on Registration of the Rights Ensured towards the Moveable Property. Suren Grigoryan presented the endorsement of the RA NA Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs.

The draft law on Ratifying the Treaty on Handing Over between the Republic of Armenia and People’s Republic of China signed in 2019 was debated by the presentation of the RA Deputy Minister of Justice Kristine Grigoryan.

The RA NA Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs endorsed the draft law.

The draft law on Making Amendments and Addenda to the RA Law on the Secure Use of the Nuclear Energy for Peaceful Purposes was debated in the second reading.

The draft law on Space Activity and the enclosed legislative package were also debated in the second reading.

The draft law on Making Addendum to the RA Law on Urban Development presented by the Acting Chairman of the Urban Development Committee was debated in the first reading.

The RA NA Standing Committee on Economic Affairs endorsed the draft laws.

The Parliament will continue the work on March 6.
