Parliament Continues Work of Regular Sittings

On May 27, the RA National Assembly continued the work of the regular sittings. The MPs continued to debate in the first reading the package of the draft laws on Making Amendments and Addenda to the Law on Police and on Making Amendments and Addenda to the Law on Service in the Police.

The RA Deputy Minister of Justice Kristiinne Grigoryan continued answering to the MPs’ questions.

The RA NA Standing Committee on Defense and Security endorsed the package. During the exchange of ideas, the speakers positively assessed the reforms to be designed.

Mkhitar Hayrapetyan voiced the positive position of the RA NA My Step Faction, as well as about the reforms to be made in the system of police.

The parliament debated in the first reading the package of the draft laws on Making Amendments and Addenda to the Constitutional Law on Referendum, on Making Amendment and Addenda to the Constitutional Law the Rules of the Procedure of the National Assembly and on Making Addenda to the Constitutional Law on Constitutional Court.

The Deputy Chair of the RA NA Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs Anna Karapetyan presented the endorsement of the Head Committee.

The RA Deputy Minister of Justice Vahe Danielyan touched upon the proposals of the Government, and they were accepted.

The MP delivered a speech on the initiative. They talked about the importance of the regulations being implemented in the laws.

Rube Rubinyan presented the viewpoint of the RA NA My Step Facton.

The key speaker Vahagn Hovakimyan delivered a concluding speech.

The bill on Amending the RA Law on Fodder and the enclosed presented package of bills authored by the Government and the bill on Making Amendments and Addenda to the Law on Medicine authored by the deputy of the RA NA My Step Faction Sisak Gabrielyan was debated in the second reading and for fully passing them.

The RA First Deputy Minister of Health Anahit Avanesyan presented for debate in the first reading the draft law on Amending the Law on Psychiatric Aid and the legislative package enclosed to it.

Lusine Badalyan presented the endorsement of the NA Standing Committee on Health Care and Social Affairs in her report.

The draft laws on Amending the RA Criminal Procedure Code presented by the Government, on Making Addenda to the RA Tax Code presented by the Government, on Making Addenda to the RA Tax Code authored by the NA deputy Gevorg Papoyan and on Making Addendum to the RA Tax Code authored by the deputy Babken Tunyan were debated in the second reading.

The draft law on Making Amendments and Addenda to the Law on State Pensions and the legislative package designing amendments to a number of laws enclosed to it presented by the Government also were debated in the second reading procedure. The Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Smbat Saiyan proposed the MPs to vote against it.

The legislative package on Making Amendment and Addenda to the Law on Automobile Transport and on Amending the RA Code on Administrative Legal Offences authored by the NA deputies Artur Dallakyan, Artyom Tsarukyan and Artur Grigoryan was debated in the first reading.

The parliament will continue the debate of the item at June 1 sitting.

At the last sitting, in accordance with the RA Constitutional Law the NA Rules of Procedure, the members of the Government answered to the deputies’ questions.
