At Sitting of NA Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs

On July 14, the RA NA Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs moderated by Vladimir Vardanyan convened an extraordinary sitting, having on the agenda five legislative initiatives. All the draft laws were debated and were endorsed by the Committee.

The legislative package on Making Addendum to the Constitutional Law the Rules of Procedure of the National Assembly and Amending the Law on Corruption Prevention Commission was debated in the first reading.

The MP proposed the attendees to give the right to nominate the candidate in the vacant post of the member of the Corruption Prevention Commission for the settlement of the problem not the Factions of the National Assembly, but the Speaker of the National Assembly.

The member of the RA NA Bright Armenia Faction Taron Simonyan has considered inadmissible the deputy’s proposal, noting that it is a direct way to super centralization of the power and non-development of the parliamentary government culture.

The RA Deputy Minister of Justice Srbuhi Galyan presented the positive opinion of the RA Government. She deemed urgent the adoption of the package. During the exchange of ideas recommendations were sounded. Suren Grigoryan expressed readiness to debate them and review them.

Afterwards the presented draft laws were debated in the second reading.

Details were given about the goals of the legislative package on Amending the RA Law on Civil Status Acts and on Making Amendment and Addendum to the RA Law on Registration Number of Public Services.

Then the draft law on Making Amendments and Addenda to the RA Civil Code was debated.

The RA Deputy Minister of Justice Rafik Grigoryan has informed about the legislative package on Making Amendment and Addenda to the RA Law on State Registration of Rights towards the property, on Making Addenda to the RA Law on Notary Office and on Making Addendum to the RA Law on State Duty and has noted the goal of the amendments is ensuring the implementation of the CC decision.

The Committee also approved the legislative package on Making Addenda to the RA Law on Notary Office, on Making Addenda to the RA Criminal Code and on Making Addenda to the RA Criminal Procedure Code authored by the RA Government.
