On September 3, the RA NA Standing Committee on Health Care and Social Affairs organized a working discussion on the theme The Current Problems of the Health Primary Care Activities. Directors of about a dozen of polyclinics of Yerevan, responsible persons of the profile from Yerevan Municipality, the RA Ministry of Health and Yerevan First Aid CJSC took part in the discussion.

The Committee Chair Narek Zeynalyan informed that the primary discussions of the basic financial document of the coming year were held in the committees of the parliament, so the Committee considered expedient to listen to the directors of the polyclinics, to get acquainted with the existing problems and find mechanisms, which would facilitate the concerns of those structures and would raise the efficiency and make them competitive.

The participants of the discussion informed that the COVID-19 pandemic also increased problems at the polyclinic, as a consequence of which paid laboratory services reduced there, instead the examinations causing expenses increased and debts were accumulated.

During the discussion recommendations were sounded, which according to the authors, could raise the efficiency of the polyclinics' activities.

Summing up the discussion the Committee Chair Narek Zeynalyan has informed that recommendations has been submitted to the Government, which mainly related to the mentioned concerns. According to him, there are non-efficient programmes in the draft budget, and the allocated means can be addressed to the health primary care area . Narek Zeynalyan informed that besides these issues, the Committee also presented recommendations aimed at the health care of the population.
