At Sitting of NA Standing Committee on Regional and Eurasian Integration
1 / 5

On October 20, the regular sitting of the RA NA Standing Committee on Regional and Eurasian Integration moderated by Mikayel Melkumyan was held, which began with one-minute silence in memory of the Armenian sons heroically died in Artsakh.

The RA Human Rights Defender Arman Tatoyan presented a report on the crime being committed towards the civilian population of Artsakh by Azerbaijan and Turkey.

According to the rapporteur, from September 27 the Turkish-Azerbaijani armed attacks have deliberately targeted the population and settlements of Armenia and Artsakh, causing damages to the civilian population. They are carried out with the kinds of weapons banned by the international conventions, aiming to terrorize and physically annihilate the peaceful population, in that way ignoring all fundamental norms of the international law for the protection of the peaceful population.

The Human Rights Defender informed that he addressed the international organizations of human rights, calling on them to take practical steps to prevent the military aggression and violence directed to the peace and security of the civilian population.

“The atrocities, the cruelties, the mass destructions, which the armed forces of Azerbaijan in Artsakh carried out, are also considered to be the consequence of the fact that the international organizations continuously refused the visits to Artsakh, despite our numerous appeals, invitations and warnings,” Arman Tatoyan underlined, adding he meant the invitations and appeals of the Human Rights Defender of Armenia and Artsakh.

Speaking about the availability of the mercenary terrorists, the rapporteur has underscored that it is already an internationally confirmed fact.

“They commit war crimes and they say in their very videos that they will resume the terrorist actions,” Arman Tatoyan, touching upon the mercenary terrorists’ atrocities.

The RA Human Rights Defender also answered to the attendees’ questions.

Afterwards the RA Deputy Foreign Minister Shavarsh Kocharyan presented in the closed format the situation created in the region.
