On February 26-28, the RA NA Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs organized a joint visiting working discussion with United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) “Modern Parliament for a Modern Armenia.” The draft law the RA Criminal Code authored by the RA Government, which had already been passed in the first reading in the National Assembly, was discussed.

The representatives of the Human Rights Defender Office, the Supreme Judicial Council, the National Security Service, the Investigative bodies, the Police, the Chamber of Advocates, the Ministry of Justice, the Prosecutor’s Office and other responsible persons of the sphere took part in the meeting.

The Working Group for the revision of the draft law with the participation of the authorized and concerned bodies comprehensively discussed the Criminal Code. Before the second reading, the works aimed at the improvement of the Criminal Code.
