It is Proposed to Clarify Number of Authorities Reserved to Local Self-Government Bodies

At October 21 regular sitting of the NA Standing Committee on Territorial Administration, Local Self-Government, Agriculture and Environment Protection, the package of draft laws on Making Amendments and Addenda to the RA Law on Local Self-Government was debated.

The executive body proposes to comply with legal contradictions being between different legislative acts, to clarify a number of authorities reserved to the local self-government bodies.

The RA Deputy Chair of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Vache Terteryan has noted that they plan to make addenda and amendments to the law on Local Self-Government.

Particularly, it is proposed to reserve the authority to confirm the scheme of road traffic organization of the community, the annual work plan of the community and the report on its implementation to the Council of the Elders. It is suggested to post the annual work plan of the community and the report on its implementation on the official website of the community, as well as to provide the documents related to the meeting of the Council of Elders to the members of the Council of Elders electronically.

As a result of debate, the Committee members were in favour of the revised legislative package, proposing to include it in the draft agenda of the NA plenary sittings.
