On October 21, the RA NA President Alen SImonyan met with the Vice President of the Senate of the Republic of France Pascale Gruny.
Alen Simonyan has noted that the meetings with the French colleagues are permanently distinguished with friendly warm nuances. According to the NA President, the evidence of the sincere friendship between the two countries and peoples is also the support shown by France and its people last year to Armenia and the Armenian people, first in fight against coronavirus pandemic, then during the disastrous war. In this context the adoption of the resolutions on the necessity of condemning the Azerbaijani-Turkish aggression against Artsakh and the recognition of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic by both chambers of Parliament of France was also mentioned. The Head of the RA legislative body stressed that Armenia always highly assessed the weighty role of France in the only internationally recognized format of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict, as the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chair country.
The sides touched upon the inter-parliamentary relations, affirming their peculiar role in developing and enriching the political dialogue between Armenia and France.
The Vice President of the Senate of France conveyed the invitation by the President of the Senate to Alen Simonyan to pay a visit to the Republic of France. He also presented the proposal of the President of the Senate of France to sign a memorandum on cooperation with the RA National Assembly in the near future.
A talk was also held over the Armenian-French parliamentary effective cooperation on the multilateral platforms.
