Delegation Led by RA NA President Alen Simonyan Meets with Minister of Defense of Cyprus

On October 25, within the framework of the official visit to Cyprus the Delegation led by the President of the RA National Assembly met with the Defence Minister of the Republic of Cyprus Charalambos Petrides.

At the meeting the sides affirmed the existence of mutual understanding and mutual support between the two countries, especially the effective cooperation on the advancement of the agenda for the genocide prevention in the international structures highly assessed. The military-political dialogue between the defensive departments of Armenia and Cyprus has touched upon, which is implemented during the meetings in bilateral and multi-lateral format.

Speaking about the Azerbaijani-Turkish military aggression against Artsakh, Alen Simonyan expressed his gratitude for the position of principle of Cyprus and support to the Artsakh people, highlighting the humanitarian and financial assistance provided to the Artsakh Armenians in 2020. The unanimous adoption of the resolution condemning the Azerbaijani aggression against Artsakh by the House of Representatives of Cyprus on 9 October 2020 was also mentioned. The sides highlighted the effective use of the opportunities in the format of the RA-EU Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement.
