Chair of NA Standing Committee and Representatives of Modern Parliament for a Modern Armenia Project Debate Issues of Cooperation

On December 2, the Chair of the RA NA Standing Committee on Protection of Human Rights and Public Affairs Taguhi Tovmasyan met with the Chief Technical Advisor of Modern Parliament for a Modern Armenia Project Biljana Ledenican and the Project Coordinator Ruzanna Hayrapetyan.

Welcoming the guests in the National Assembly, the Chair of the Standing Committee highlighted the cooperation with the Modern Parliament for a Modern Armenia Project, especially underlined the necessity of their support in the sphere of reforms. Taguhi Tovmasyan also expressed readiness to continue the traditions of cooperation on different issues.

Thanking for the reception, Biljana Ledenican has informed assist the re-equipment and digitalization works of the National Assembly with the development project of parliaments, as well as the elaboration processes of the legislative initiatives. The meetings with the Chairs of the Standing Committees and the debates over different problems were also highlighted. It has been noted that the Modern Parliament for a Modern Armenia Project assists the organizational works of the visiting sittings of the Standing Committees.

The Chair of the Standing Committee stressed the importance of the reforms of the legislation on the persons with limited capabilities, and the support of the Project in that issue.

Biljana Ledenican considered necessary the study of the international experience, which would give opportunity to get informed and to make an idea how the parliaments of different countries solved similar problems.

During the meeting gender problems, the women’s rights and other issues were also touched upon.
