At January 11 sitting, moderated by Gevorg Papoyan, the RA NA Standing Committee on Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs debated the issue of Hovhannes Khachatryan’s candidacy introduced by the Civil Contract Faction for the vacant post of the Deputy Governor of the RA Central Bank (CB) and the nomination of a candidate for that post in the National Assembly.
The Chair of the Standing Committee presented the candidate’s biographical data. It was noted that Hovhannes Khachatryan studied and graduated from YSU Faculty of Economics. He has a master’s degree. He worked in the Statistics Department of the RA Central Bank for about six years. He is a member of the CB Board, non-party.
Gevorg Papoyan has emphasized the candidate’s professional experience and has added, that he corresponds to the post of the CB Deputy Governor in all respects.
Hovhannes Khachatryan referred to the CB operations, shares and capital markets. He highlighted the role of the bank in the development of the financial market of the country, underlined the necessity of monetary policy.
The candidate also answered to the deputies’ questions.
The Committee members unanimously voted for Hovhannes Khachatryan’s candidacy.
