On May 20, the RA NA President Alen Simonyan received the delegation led by the President of the Republic of Lithuania Gitanas Nausėda being in Armenia on an official visit.
In the private talk followed the solemn reception the RA NA President and the President of Lithuania discussed the perspectives of the joint agenda of cooperation.
The meeting in the extended format followed the private talk. Welcoming the guests, Alen Simonyan highly appreciated the cooperation existing between the two countries, distinguishing the activities of the parliamentary friendship groups. At the meeting within the framework of the RA-EU Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement issues regarding the further cooperation with Lithuania were discussed.
Problems of regional security were touched upon. The President of Lithuania noted that the only way of the conflict solution are the peaceful negotiations and expressed hope that lasting peace in the region will be established soon.
At the end of the meeting Alen Simonyan conveyed warm greetings to the Speaker of the Seimas Viktorija Čmilytė-Nielsen.
