On November 15, the NA Chief of Staff, Secretary General of the Republic of Armenia Vahan Naribekyan met with the Secretary General of the Parliament of the Republic of Korea Kwang Jae Lee.

Warmly welcoming his colleague Kwang Jae Lee noted that the Republic of Korea highlights the development of the relations in many spheres with the Republic of Armenia, and expressed readiness for making efforts to develop the cooperation between the two parliaments and the activation of contacts between the Staffs.

In his turn Vahan Naribekyan offered condolences in connection with the tragedy that had taken human lives, then touched upon the 30^th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Armenia and Korea and mentioned that since the establishment of diplomatic relations the Armenian-Korean inter-state ties had developed in the friendly and partnership atmosphere. “Though our countries are far from each other geographically, but there are necessary bases and unused potential for more expanding our relations. Armenia attaches great importance to the stable development of the friendly relations with Korea, the deepening of cooperation in many spheres and more developing the inter-parliamentary ties,” Vahan Naribekyan said.

He noted that the cooperation in the parliamentary format has an important role on the agenda of the Armenian-Korean inter-state relations.

“This visit of the RA NA delegation gives good opportunity for more deepening the contacts and cooperation, for discussion a wide scope of issues of bilateral interest. As a Chief of Staff, Secretary General of the RA National Assembly I emphasize the implementation of the programs of exchange between the Staffs of the two parliaments, the cognitive visits, the training of the RA NA Staff in the Republic of Korea and the organization of other events,” Vahan Naribekyan noted.

The NA Chief of Staff, Secretary General expressed his gratitude to the Government of Korea for permanently showing support to Armenia, especially for the various programs implemented in Armenia by the Korea International Cooperation Agency of (KOICA).

During the meeting processes going on in the region were thoroughly presented, as well as the details of the offensive by Azerbaijan on the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia.

At the end of the meeting Vahan Naribekayn invited his Korean colleague to Armenia. Kwang Jae Lee gladly accepted the invitation.
