“The main purpose of the legislative initiative is to establish clear regulations in the field of licensing, which is a key function in the field of education,” the RA Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Zhanna Andreasyan noted, presenting the draft law on Making Addenda to the Law on Education in the first reading.
According to Zhanna Andreasyan, it was proposed to create an opportunity to confirm the equipment, materials, and property of laboratories, workshops, chairs, clinical chairs in medical specialties, gymnasium, in terms of implementation of educational programs of organizations. This provision will contribute to the enrichment of the material and technical base of educational institutions, ensuring a high learning results.
A number of important relationships will be regulated: the permits for activities with preschool age groups, as well as for the activities of educational foundations.
It was noted that the process will become clear and more effective by legislating a number of licensing processes in the field of education, as well as the inconsistencies between the legal acts will be regulated.
In response to MP Hovik Aghazaryan’s question, whether the quality of the supplied equipment will be controlled, Zhanna Andreasyan noted that the technical specifications will be regulated by separate legal acts.
The legislative initiative authored by the Government was debated at the sitting of the RA NA Standing Committee on Science, Education, Culture, Diaspora, Youth and Sport on November 29.
The debate of the draft law on Making Addendum to the Law on Audiovisual Media authored by the MP Sisak Gabrielyan was postponed for up to two months.
