The deputies of the NA Civil Contract Lilit Stepanyan, Heriknaz Tigranyan and Sisak Gabrielyan with the amendments to the law on General Education propose to give opportunity to the administrative workers of the educational institutions with up to 100 pupils to teach also in other institutions, as well as to specify the powers of appointing the director of the educational institution and coordinator and the sign an employment contract.

According to the key rapporteur Lilit Stepanyan, it is proposed to make eight amendments to the law in force by the draft and some provisions are edited. The provision regarding the financing being provided for the children with disabilities also in the general educational institutions to adjust with the physical environment.

As the NA deputy assured, the main purpose of the legislative initiative is to facilitate the organization of the educational process.

The co-rapporteur, the RA Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport Zhanna Andreasyan expressed satisfaction for the joint cooperation with the legislators and documented that in general, the Government positively assesses the proposing amendments.

It was noted that the executive body also presented a number of substantive and editorial observations. According to the Deputy Minister, the administrative worker should be engaged with his/her main job, and can only teach if necessary.

The Chair of the NA Standing Committee on Science, Education, Culture, Diaspora, Youth and Sport Sisak Gabrielyan proposed to jointly debate and adjust some items during the period from the first to the second reading.

As a result of debate, the draft law was endorsed.
