On June 26, the Vice President of the National Assembly Hakob Arshakyan took part in the Third Annual Conference of the Armenian Society of Fellows (ASOF) in Matenadaran.
“Armenia wants to be a successful and competitive country. We revise a number of programs to achieve that goal,” Hakob Arshakyan said, welcoming the participants of the Conference.
As Head of the Executive Body of the RA Prime Minister’s Council on Science and Technology, the NA Vice President presented the work done by the Council. According to him, the development of high technologies has a decisive role in increasing the competitiveness, security and standard of living of states. Noting that every state has its developed strategy, Hakob Arshakyan presented the priority direction, related to which the Council does its work. The Vice President mentioned that within the framework of the Council working groups of Artificial Intelligence, Robotics/ Aeronautics & Space Research, Microelectronics, Biotechnologies and Life Sciences, Science and Industry were formed.
The strategy of science, high technologies sphere development should be revised on the basis of the international effective experience and working groups’ studies.
Hakob Arshakyan thanked the Armenian Society of Fellows for organizing the Conference in such format, wishing the participants effective work.
The Armenian Society of Fellows brings together 312 scientists and experts from 34 countries of the world, in more than 200 professional directions. 55 members of the ASOF are lecturers and researchers working in 100 best universities of the world. Its mission is to help the educational and research institutions to register increase of world level and involve them in the scientific-educational world network by strengthening the collaborative relations.
The Annual Conference is an opportunity for the ASOF members to present new ideas and projects on strategically important topics for the Republic of Armenia.
