On September 13, the RA NA Vice President of the National Assembly Hakob Arshakyan met with the Senator of Mexico, the President of the Bureau of Women Parliamentarians of the Inter-Parliamentary Union Cynthia Lopez Castro.
Welcoming the guest, Hakob Arshakyan highlighted the deepening of cooperation between the legislative bodies of the two countries.
The NA Vice President expressed gratitude to the members of the Senate for recognizing the Armenian Genocide and condemning it in the previous year. “The Armenian Genocide was a crime not only against Armenian people, but also against the whole humankind. Adopting this document, the Senate of Mexico had its contribution in prevention of future crimes against humankind, as well as in consolidation of the civilized world around this universal goal,” Hakob Arshayan underscored.
The Deputy Speaker of Parliament presented to the guest the recent developments of the process of settlement of Armenia-Azerbaijan relations, the efforts being made by our country in signing the peace treaty.
Cynthia Lopez Castro highly valued the 10th Global Conference of Young Parliamentarians of Inter-Parliamentary Union being held in Yerevan. According to the member of the Senate of Mexico, similar events promote the exchange of experience and deepening of cooperation between the young people.
Hakob Arshakyan will participate in the inauguration of the First Female President of Mexico Claudia Sheinbaum in the history of Mexico on October 1 on behalf of Armenia.
