During the year the drivers will have 13 points instead of 9. The NA deputy Armen Khachatryan presented in the second reading the draft law on Amending the Code on Administrative Offences authored by the NA deputies Alen Simonyan, Ruben Rubinyan, Armen Khachatryan at the sitting of the NA Standing Committee on Defense and Security on March 20.
According to the key rapporteur, after the first reading a number of proposals were presented by the NA deputies Hayk Sargsyan, Arsen Torosyan, Andranik Kocharyan and Zaruhi Batoyan. Armen Khachatryan underscored that Zaruhi Batoyan’s submitted proposals were adopted. They referred to violating the rules for using external lighting devices and not switching the high beam of a vehicle to the low beam in cases provided for by road traffic rules or driving a vehicle with high beam in prohibited cases. According to the proposal, in the first case, a five-fold fine of the minimum salary will be imposed instead of the previous three and 1 penalty point will be applied. In the second case, a ten-fold fine of the minimum salary will be imposed instead of the previous five times and 1 penalty point again. Previously, no penalty points were deducted for the above violations.
Armen Khachatryan noted that the proposals submitted by the other deputies changed the content of the draft law, so it a decision was made to submit a separate draft law.
The draft law was endorsed.
