The RA NA President Alen Simonyan met with the NA President of France Yaël Braun-Pivet within the framework of the European Conference of Presidents of Parliaments of the Council of Europe during his working visit to Strasbourg.

Alen Simonyan in a talk with his counterpart expressed gratitude for the continuous support of France to Armenia, noting that the efforts of France to establish peace in our region are also highly appreciated.

Yaël Braun-Pivet in her turn reaffirmed the unconditional support of France aimed at the aspirations of Armenia for peace and steps towards democratic reforms.

The sides also touched upon the issues regarding the Armenian-French relations, the inter-parliamentary cooperation and regional developments. The RA NA President reaffirmed the resolute position of the Armenian side on signing the recently agreed Peace Agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan, as well as drawing the attention of his French counterpart to the problem of Armenians held in Azerbaijan.
