A number of legislative initiatives were debated in the second reading at the sitting on October 16 of the NA Standing Committee on Science, Education, Culture, Diaspora, Youth and Sport.
The bill on Making Amendments to the Law on Language was submitted by the Minister of Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of the Republic of Armenia Zhanna Andreasyan. According to her, after the first reading, the Government presented proposals that were adopted. They are aimed at further clarifying the established formulations.
“Language policy is one of the most important tools for strengthening the state and statehood, and we must adopt more systematic approaches in this direction,” the Minister emphasized, answering the questions of the Committee members.
The proposal of the deputies was adopted at the sitting.
The Minister also presented the initiative related to the definition of an authorized body in the field of general education. According to Zhanna Andreasyan, the Government presented a number of proposals from the first to the second reading.
At the sitting, a proposal regarding the general education sector was presented by Committee member Narek Babayan, which was adopted.
