On November 5, the sitting of the Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs was held. It was moderated by the Committee Chair Vladimir Vardanyan. A number of draft laws were debated in the second reading.
The author of the bill on Making Addendum the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia is the deputy from the Civil Contract Faction Hasmik Hakobyan. Reminding about the content of the draft law, the author informed that after the first reading it was amended based on the submitted proposals.
It is established that obstructing the professional, as well as non-professional, supporting activities of a medical professional, which has created a real danger to the life and health of the patient, is punishable by a fine in the amount of up to ten times or by community service for a maximum of 100 hours or by restriction of liberty for a maximum of one year or by short-term imprisonment for a maximum of one month.
The initiative also stipulates that obstructing the professional, as well as non-professional, supporting activities of a healthcare professional, committed by threatening to use violence against a healthcare professional or by using violence, is punishable by a fine of up to twenty times the amount of the fine or by community service of 100-200 hours or by restriction of liberty for a maximum period of two years or by short-term imprisonment for a maximum period of two months or by imprisonment for a maximum period of two years.
After the adoption of amendments to the Law on Probation Service, when awarding the next rank to probation officers who have served in other state bodies and have been appointed to probation service positions, the period of service in those bodies with a given rank or class rank will be taken into consideration. The initiative was presented by the Deputy Minister of Justice of the Republic of Armenia Gevorg Kocharyan.
The debated initiatives were endorsed.
The debate of the Law on Cybersecurity and the package of accompanying bills has been postponed for up to two months due to the absence of the author.
