Discussion at the NA Standing Committee on European Integration
1 / 5

On July 18 the NA Standing Committee on European Integration together with the EU Advisory Group to Armenia initiated a discussion on the perspectives of the joint work of the Committee, the EU Advisory Group and the EU Representation to Armenia. The NA deputies, representatives of the Government, the Youth Parliament and NGOs took part in the discussion.

The participants discussed the approximation of the European legislation, the oversight and monitoring towards the Government, the exchange of experience between the Committees on European Affairs of the national parliaments of the European Union member countries, as well as issues pertaining to the functions of inner-parliamentary and international relations. Dirk Lorenz, Head of the Political, Economic, Press and Information Sector of the EU delegation to Armenia, and Ilmar Solims, Adviser on the EU Approximation and Governance of the EU Advisory Group, made a comprehensive report on the abovementioned problems.

The Committee Chair Naira Zohrabyan presented the agenda of the problems, which in future can serve as a ground for the legal basis of the RA-EU relations.

An agreement was reached between the sides to organize one more discussion in future, which will relate to the allocations made to the RA state budget by the European Union and the transparency and efficiency of expenditures.
