Meeting at the NA Standing Committee on European Integration
1 / 1

On February 11, the Chair of the NA Standing Committee on European Integration met with Ms Judith Margaret Farnworth, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

Naira Zohrabyan touched upon the inner-political situation created in the country after the Constitutional Amendments. The sides discussed the concerns voiced in the assessment of the referendum on December 6, 2015 given by the OSCE/ODIHR. The interlocutors discussed the mechanisms being proposed by the Electoral Code also to be revised in future which will give an opportunity to prevent the illegal interventions to the electoral process by law.

In the course of the meeting they also touched upon the works of the PACE Winter Session and the report “Escalation of Violence in Nagorno-Karabakh and the other occupied territories of Azerbaijan” authored by Robert Walters. Presenting the viewpoint of the British Government, the Ambassador has noted that Great Britain defends the format of the OSCE Minsk Group in the NK problem settlement process.

The sides also discussed issues relating to the RA-EU future legal document, as well as the economic policy of Armenia.
