On May 3, the members of the RA NA Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) Faction Artak Zakaryan, Khosrov Harutyunyan, the member of the RA NA Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) Faction Mikayel Melkumyan, the Head of the RA NA Armenian National Congress (ANC) Faction Levon Zurabyan, the Secretary of the Faction Aram Manukyan, the Secretary of the RA NA Rule of Law Faction Mher Shahgeldyan, the members of the Faction Hovhannes Margaryan, Levon Dokholyan, the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF) expert Kajavan Nurijanyan met with the UN experts Roman Shpak, Zoran Trajkovski and Dan Malinovich.

At the guests’ request the representatives of the Factions touched upon the RA Draft Electoral Code passed in the first reading in parliament and talked about the amendments being proposed in the electoral processes.

The representatives of both power and opposition forces presented their approaches and concerns particularly, on the cleansing and specification of the electoral lists, on the voter’s registration through e-system, on taking the fingerprints’ ink and its further use, and on participation with one united document in the elections by the citizens.

The participants of the discussion also referred to the UN possible participation in the RA electoral processes, especially showing assistance.

The guests noted that after returning from Armenia they will prepare an internal use report, which will be submitted to the United Nations Deputy Secretary-General.
