Galust Sahakyan Receives Newly Appointed Ambassador of Ecuador to Armenia

On April 28, the RA NA Speaker Galust Sahakyan received the newly-appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Ecuador to the Republic of Armenia Julio César Prado Espinosa (residence in Moscow).

Welcoming the newly appointed Ambassador in the RA National Assembly, Galust Sahakyan congratulated him on the occasion of his appointment and wished him success in the implementation of the initiatives.

Highlighting Armenia’s relationships with Latin American countries, the NA Speaker recorded with satisfaction the considerable progress of cooperation with Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay and Chile.

Touching upon the development of the inter-parliamentary relations, Galust Sahakyan expressed hope that in the future Friendship Groups will be formed in two parliaments in the future, which will promote the establishment of active cooperation between the parliaments.

Talking about the economic relations between Armenia and Ecuador, the NA Speaker noted: “We should make joint efforts for reaching tangible results in this sphere. In this respect, I think that the organization of business forums can be beneficial in Armenia and Ecuador.”

Thanking the RA NA Speaker for the reception, Julio César Prado Espinosa conveyed him the greetings of Ecuador’s President and the Head of the Parliament.

The newly appointed Ambassador has noted that he is ready to boost the enlivening of relationships between the two countries and the development of multilateral cooperation.

Julio César Prado Espinosa indicated the main directions of Armenian-Ecuadorian cooperation, emphasizing the role of both the parliamentarians and businessmen in the implementation of the initiatives.

The Ambassador asked for the RA NA Speaker’s support in the activation of parliamentary diplomacy and in the creation of Friendship Groups.

Galust Sahakyan expressed his support for the implementation of the scheduled programmes.

At the end of the meeting the Ambassador referred to the inner-political situation in his country.
