On October 2, the Chair of RA NA Standing Committee on Defense and Security Koryun Nahapetyan took part in the visiting sitting of the Coordinating Council of the Chairs of the Committees on Defense and Security of the Parliaments of the CSTO Member States adjunct to the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly (PA) Council held in Rostov-on-Don.

The parliamentarians discussed the military-political situation in the Collective Security Caucasus Region, the military security in the South Military Okrug, ensuring the border security in the region, as well as a number of issues concerning the capacity building of the CSTO Member States’ response to the threats and challenges.

The participants of the consultation visited the Russian Federation (RF) Defense Regional Center of the RF Armed Forces Southern Military Okrug, where Koryun Nahapetyan together with the Commander of the RF Armed Forces Southern Military Okrug discussed the problems connected with the compilation of the Russian 102^nd Military Base Staff, as well as the armament.

Within the framework of the visit Koryun Nahapetyan also took part in the opening ceremony of the Combative Brotherhood-2017 Operative-Tactic Military Exercise launched on October 3.
