The parliament continued debating in the first reading the draft law on Military Service and Serviceman’s Status.

On October 26, the RA National Assembly continued the work of the regular sittings.

The parliamentarians Artak Zeynalyan, Gevorg Gorgisyan, Mihran Hakobyan, Sergey Bagratyan and Ararat Mirzoyan continued expressed their viewpoints on the draft law authored by the RA Government and presented for debate in the first reading.

The RA NA Deputy Speaker Eduard Sharmazanov delivered an extraordinary speech.

Eduard Sharmazanov has highlighted Nation-Army ideology, noting that it has a potential that is able to make healthier the society. He urged his colleagues to vote for the draft law.

The RA NA Way Out and RPA Factions expressed their positions.

Nikol Pashinyan touched upon the inner political situation in Armenia, the problems existing in the army and informed that the Way Out Faction would vote against the draft law.

Vahram Baghdasaryan informed that the RPA Faction would vote for the draft law.

The Chair of the RA NA Standing Committee on Defense and Security Koryun Nahapetyan and the Minister of Defense Vigen Sargsyan delivered final speeches, touched upon the opinions and concerns voiced in the deputies’ speeches and gave clarifications.

The legislative package on Amending the RA Code on Administrative Infringements, on Amending the RA Law on Food Safety and on Amending the RA Law on Veterinary was debated was debated in the first reading, which presented the Head of the State Service for Food Safety of the RA Ministry of Agriculture Ishkhan Karapetyan.

The Deputy Chair of the RA NA Standing Committee on Territorial Administration, Local Self-Government, Agriculture and Environment Araik Hovhannisyan has noted that the package was debated in the Committee.

The RA NA deputies Vardevan Grigoryan, Mikayel Melkumyan, Sergey Bagratyan, Araik Hovhanniayan expressed their viewpoints on the issue.

In his final speech Ishkhan Karapetyan touched upon the deputies’ concerns and recommendations.

The RA Deputy Minister of Agriculture Ashot Harutyunyan presented for debate in the first reading the package of several RA draft laws.

Vardevan Grigoryan has noted that the legislative package was endorsed by the Committee. The RA NA Deputy Speaker Arpine Hovhannisyan expressed her viewpoint on the issue.

The draft law on Amending the RA Law on Protection of Economic Competition was debated in the first reading. The Chair of the RA NA Standing Committee on Economic Affairs Khosrov Harutyunyan opined that the Committee voted for the initiative.

The parliament debated in the second reading the bill on Amending the RA law on Licensing, which presented the RA Minister of Economic Development and Investments Tigran Khachatryan. Gagik Melikyan presented endorsement of the package by the Committee.

The Deputy Head of Police adjunct to RA Government Vardan Yeghiazaryan presented for debate in the first reading procedure the draft law on Legal Regime of Emergency Situation, on Amending the Criminal Code and on Amending the RA Code on Administrative Infringements, on Amending the RA law on Police. Rustam Makhsudyan, Tigran Urikhanyan and Alik Sargsyan presented the endorsements of the draft law and the legislative package by the relevant Committees.

The draft law on Amending the RA law on the RA Citizenship, and the RA NA Deputy Speaker Arpine Hovhannisyan presented the endorsement of the draft law.

Several other draft laws and agreements were debated in the second reading and endorsed.

The RA First Deputy Minister if Territorial Administration and Development Vache Terteryan presented several draft laws, and among them the bill on Amending the RA law on Political Asylum.

The parliament will continue the work on October 27.
