On November 3, the Chairman of the RA NA Standing Committee on Defense and Security, the Head of the RA NA delegation to NATO PA Koryun Nahapetyan met with the newly appointed Head of the Mission of the Republic of Armenia to NATO Gagik Hovhannisyan. The members of the RA NA delegation to NATO PA also took part in the meeting.

Koryun Nahapetyan congratulated the Head of the Mission and wished him success during his diplomatic service.

In the course of the meeting the issues concerning the perspectives of Armenia-NATO relations, the participation of the Republic of Armenia in the peacekeeping missions, the problems and challenges of the international and regional security were discussed. In the context of Armenia-NATO relations, the participants of the meeting touched upon the role of the parliamentary diplomacy, as well as the importance of NATO support in the ongoing reforms in the sphere of defense and security.

Gagik Hovhannisyan expressed readiness to actively cooperate with the bodies of the National Assembly in the implementation of the priorities stemming from the mission of the Republic of Armenia to NATO.
