Ara Babloyan Meets with Chairperson of RF FA Council of the Federation Valentina Matvienko

On February 14, the delegation headed by the RA NA Speaker Ara Babloyan met with the Chairperson of the RF FA Council of the Federation Valentina Matvienko in Moscow.

Thanking Valentina Matvienko for the warm reception, Ara Babloyan has underlined that the Armenian-Russian relations are based on friendship and centuries-old traditions. Noting that the parliamentary cooperation has its unique place in the development of the inter-state relations, in this context the RA NA Speaker evaluated the role of the Armenian-Russian Inter-Parliamentary Committee on Cooperation, as well as the relevant Committees.

The sides touched upon the bilateral cooperation on the international parliamentary platforms. The Head of the RA Parliament particularly underlined the effective cooperation of the delegations of the two countries within the framework of the Inter-Parliamentary Union.

As an important and effective direction the RA NA Speaker stressed the inter-regional collaboration, considering necessary the expansion of the decentralised cooperation.

The Head of the RA parliament expressed confidence that the relations between the two countries from now on would develop in the atmosphere of partnership and mutual trust.

The Chairperson of RF FA Federal Assembly Valentina Matvienko also highly assessed the level of the Armenian-Russian relations, expressing conviction that the format of the cooperation of the two parliaments from now on also would expand, and the collaboration would deepen both in bilateral and multilateral formats.

The delegation left for Moscow is comprised of the RA NA deputies Hermine Naghdalyan, Artashes Geghamyan, the RA NA Chief of Staff-Secretary General Ara Saghatelyan. At the meeting the RA Ambassador to the RF Vardan Toghanyan also attended the meeting.
