On October 15 Speaker of the National Assembly Mr. Hovik Abrahamyan received Kharkov Region Governor of  Ukraine (chairman of the state administration of the region) Mr. Arsen Avakov.

Welcoming the guest the Speaker of the Armenian Parliament noted that the direct ties and the cooperation in the trade-economic, cultural, educational and other spheres between the regions of Armenia and Ukraine is one of the prior directions of mutually beneficial partnership between the two countries. He reaffirmed the interest of the Armenian side in expanding and developing those ties, emphasizing that the Kharkov Region is an interesting partner, with which the mutual cooperation has a rich history.

In that context the interlocutors highlighted the signed Protocol on the intentions of cooperation between the region of Kharkov of Ukraine and regions of Armenia.

Afterwards Governor Mr. Avakov and the delegation headed by him submitted a number of proposals of cooperation to Mr. Abrahamyan in the spheres of energy, agriculture, education and in other spheres. The sides agreed to continue the discussion of those proposals at professional level, after which to  implement those programmes within short period.
