Born on March 2, 1961 in the village of Lernhovit in Lori province.

1982 - Graduated from the Yerevan K. Marx Polytechnic Institute.

1989 - Graduated from the Rostov on Don (RF) Higher Educational Political School. Engineer-mechanic. Politician. Economist.

1982 - 1983 - Teacher in the school of  Lernhovit village in the Kalinino region.

1983 -1985 - Engineer, and later senior engineer, at the ASSR Hail-Combating Military Service of Kalinino Detachment.

1985 -1987 - Chair, then Secretary of the LCYU Kalinino District Committee Rural Division.

1988 -1989 - Instructor in ACP Kalinino District Committee.

1990 - 1993 - General Director of “SIK” Industrial and Commercial Enterprise (Rostov on Don.)

1993 - 1999 - Director of Tashir Silver Plates Factory, and later President of the “Tashir Silver Plates” OJSC Council.

2008 - 2011 - Chief of the Staff of the President of the Republic of Armenia.

1995 - 1999 - Deputy of the National Assembly (electoral district #139.) Member of the Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs of the National Assembly. Member of the  “Reforms” Deputy Group. Non partisan.

1999 - 2003 - Deputy of the National Assembly (electoral district #50.) Member of the  Standing Committee on Financial-Credit, Budgetary and Economic Affairs of the National Assembly. Secretary of the “Stability” Deputy Group.

2000 - 2003 - Head of the “People's Deputy” Deputy Group. Non partisan.

May 12, 2007 - September 30, 2008 - Deputy of the National Assembly (proportional electoral system, RPA.) Member of the Standing Committee on Science, Education, Culture, Youth and Sport of the National Assembly. Head of the RPA faction. Member of the RPA Executive Body and Council.

May 6, 2012 - Elected Deputy of the National Assembly from the electoral district #32.

2006 - Awarded with 1st Grade Medal “For Services Contributed to the Motherland.”
