Born on May 5, 1955 in the village of Saranist in the Abovyan region.

1993 - Graduated at Ekaterinbourg (RF) Uralian Institute of National Economy. Economist. He is a candidate for Economics PHD.

1973 - 1975 - Served in the Soviet Army.

1975 - 1989 - Worked in the Haybyureghapaki Plant (Arzni.)

1989 - Founder - Director of Saranist Ltd.  Member of the Councils of the Businessmen and Producers Union and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Armenia.

2003 - 2007 - Deputy of the National Assembly (electoral district #45.)

Till May 22, 2006 - Member of the “Rule of Law” faction. Then he was not included in any  factions or deputy group. Member of the Standing Committee on Financial-Credit, Budgetary and Economic Affairs of the National Assembly.

2007 - 2012 - Deputy of the National Assembly (electoral district #27.)

June 19, 2007 - July 11, 2007 - Member of the Standing Committee on Financial - Credit and Budgetary Affairs of the National Assembly.

July 11, 2008 - May 31, 2012 - Member of the Standing Committee on Territorial Management and Local Self-Government of the National Assembly.

May 6, 2012 - Elected deputy of the National Assembly from the electoral district #26.

Married, with five children.
