1978 - Graduated from the Legal Division of YSINE (Yerevan State Institute of National Economy) Department of Social Sciences.

1986 - Post Graduate of the Institute of Economics of NAS of the Republic of Armenia.

Doctor, Professor of Economics. (Republic of Armenia and RF 2005, Ukraine 2010).

1981 - 1982 - Deputy Director at the “Chemreactiv” RU.

1986 - 1990 - Scientific worker, Head of Division.

1983 1985 - Postgraduate of the Institute of Economics of NAS of the Republic of Armenia.

September 1991 - November 1991 - Acting President of the Government of the Republic of Armenia.

1993 - 1996 - Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia.

1996 - 1997 - Adviser of International Currency Fund, Expert of energy affairs of Russia and Ukraine (Washington).
