Mkhitar Varagyan was born on July 27, 1966 in the village of Artik.
In 1995 he graduated the Moscow Institute of Milling Industry with the degree of engineer-technologist. 1990-1995 he was the director of the Micro-Star company and in 1996-1999 at Optima trade (Alma-Ata, Kazakhstan) he was manager of the procurement division and subsequently general manager and 1999-2001 Vice President.
From 2003-2007 he was a deputy in the NA (electoral district #50). He was a member of the NA Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs. He was a member of the “People's Deputy” Deputy Group.
On May 12, 2007 he was elected to the NA from electoral district #36.
Mr. Varagyan is married and has two children.
