Arakel Abahami Movsisyan was born on August 20, 1966 in Echmiadzin city.

From 1993-1997 he studied at the Stepanakert Pedagogical Institute and received specialty in Primary Military Training and Physical Education.

From 2000-2004 he was a Chief Military Officer at the Analytical Department of the Ministry of Defense.

From 1989-1995 he has participated in Karabakh war.

Mr. Movsisyan was engaged in boxing. He is a boxing referee of the Republic of Armenia.

From 2004-2007 he was a deputy in the NA (electoral district #27). He was a member of the Standing Committee on Defense, National Security and Internal Affairs. He was not included in any faction and deputy group.

On May 12, 2007 he was elected as a deputy of the National Assembly by the proportional system from the Republican Party of Armenia/RPA.

Mr. Movsisyan is married and has three children.
