Ashot Arsenyan was born on November 14, 1960 in the village of Gndevaz in the Azizbekov region.
Mr. Arsenyan received his degree in civil engineering from the Civil Engineering University in 1986.
From 1980-1982 he served in the Soviet Army. From 1982-1984 he worked in the Jermouk Vehicle Store # 6, then spent two years as head of the Jermouk station of Sourenavan Oil Store. From 1986-1988 he served as a deputy of the chief doctor of the Jermouk Resort # 4. In 1988 he was appointed administrative deputy of the chief doctor of the Jermouk Health-Resort. In 1993 he served as the director of the Jermuk mineral water factory. In 1996 he was elected mayor of Jermuk. In 1999 and again in 2002 was reelected mayor and in 1999 also founded Jermuk Group CJSC. Mr. Arsenyan is an honorary member of the Armenia Producers and Businessmen's Union board and the NGO Yerkir Nairi.
From 2003-2007 he was a deputy in the NA (proportional system, RPA.). He was a member of the NA Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs. He was a member of the Republican Party of Armenia Faction.
On May 12, 2007 he was elected as a deputy of the National Assembly by the proportional system from the Republican Party of Armenia/RPA.
Mr. Arsenyan is married and has three children.
