He was born on November 23, 1953 in Goris.

In 1975 he graduated from the faculty of Hydro Technical Construction of Hydro Power Plants and River Structures and received qualification of engineer hydro-technician.

1976-2009 he worked at N 919 Construction Department of ArmConstruction Trust of the former USSR Transport Construction of Zangezur TransConstruction OJSC: 1976-1978 - an engineer of production-technical division, 1978-1981 - head of production-technical division, 1981-1987- chief engineer, 1987-2009 - general director.

He was awarded the title of honorable builder of Hayastan All-Armenian Fund. In 2004 he was awarded Anania Shirakatsi Medal. He is an honorable citizen of Goris. He is an honorable citizen of RF Transport Construction Ministry.

On June 8, 2009 he was elected as a deputy to the National Assembly by proportional electoral system from the Prosperous Armenia Party.

He is married and has three children.
