On April 27, the RA NA President Ara Babloyan received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to Armenia Jonathan Lacôte.
The interlocutors touched upon the recent events going on in Armenia and the RA Prime Minister’s upcoming election.
Ara Babloyan has noted that Armenia highlights the role of the protection of human rights, democracy and freedom of speech in the development of the country.
According to the Head of the Parliament, on May 1, the RA Prime Minister’s election will be held in the RA National Assembly, in accordance with the RA Constitution and the laws.
Jonathan Lacôte emphasized the possibility of holding peaceful demonstrations in the Republic, and the behaviour of the law enforcement structures, as well as demonstration participants during those days.
The Ambassador of France expressed hope that the processes would go on within the framework of the parliament and other democratic institutes.
The interlocutors expressed hope that after the RA Prime Minister’s election the situation in the country would return to its natural mainstream.
